2022 Sarmento Vineyard Block 19 Pinot Noir

For this showcase Pinot Noir, our winemaker selected Block 19, the highest block on the Sarmento Vineyard known for its rich fruit and earthy elements. Block 19 has long been a favorite area of the Sarmento Vineyard for our winemaker Jose. Due to its high elevation and steep positioning, the ground isn't able to capture as much water, stressing the vines and leading to grapes with richer flavors and more depth than the rest of the vineyard. 

Crafted of exclusively clone 667, this wine leads with bright notes of raspberry and pomegranate that are enhanced by spicy tannins. The mouth is big and bursting with flavors of baked cherry pie, dark blackberry and cinnamon.  A velvety mouthfeel leads into the long finish accented by dark chocolate. 


Pairing Suggestion:
This big wine will pair beautifully with big flavors. Enjoy it with grilled pork tenderloin, mushroom risotto or roasted rack of lamb.
